Working to maintain and improve Medicare, COTA has lobbied for the reduction of waiting times for surgery, dental care to pensioners and improved pharmaceutical benefits. It has informed older people about pharmaceuticals through peer education projects.

COTA's efforts, through liaison with State and Federal Governments, have led to improved standards in retirement villages, nursing homes, hostels and special accommodation. COTA is currently working hard to try and ensure the best outcomes from the Coalition Government's structural reforms to residential care. Click here for COTA comments and updates.
